A Loving, Permanent Home needed for the Best Dog in the Universe

Chester was 1 of 7 pups born on Dec. 31, 2019 at the SPCA in Comox, BC.  His mother was a rescue from the reservation in Port Hardy, BC.  We (my husband and I) have been Chester’s pack since he was 8 weeks old.

Chester was a very confident, secure, anxiety free puppy. In the first year of his life he attended puppy kindergarten, basic obedience, some fun nose work sniffer classes and doggie daycare.  He was well socialized.

He has grown into a tall, strong and handsome Pit Bull mix. Weighs in at 90ish lbs. and is roughly 25ins. at the shoulder.  Because he has a grade 3 underbite (Vet’s Dx) and long legs there is some Boxer in the mix as well as Shepard,  giving him a longer face, black muzzle and course black hair along is spine and top of his long tail.

During the last 5 yrs. he has lived on a fenced acreage outside of Fruitvale, BC.  He has never been tied up, spent a night outside, locked in a kennel, or lived on the end of a chain.  He has been a much loved family pet.  He loves all people including kids and has never shown even a hint of aggression or biting behaviour.  He greets everyone with kisses and his “happy meter” (tail) on maximum!

Chester does have a high prey drive so should absolutely be leashed when out and about in case something delicious comes into site.  He is very strong so needs an even stronger someone on the other end of the leash.  He is good with other dogs but has displayed some resource guarding in his territory.

Unfortunately, my spouse, who has Alzheimer’s is now in a LTC facility and the property has been sold because I could not manage it anymore on my own.  The people who bought the property are graciously caring for Chester until a new home is found for him.

Chester is an awesome dog and all the people who know him agree.  I sincerely hope that someone out there will love him as much as we do.
